The MRMF Happy Tanks-giving Giveaway!

The Myles & Ruth Munroe Foundation hosted it’s signature ‘Tanks-giving” gas giveaway event in Nassau, Bahamas this weekend past, to the delight of hundreds of Bahamians. The Foundation partnered with the Rubis Gladstone Road service station team to fill up the gas tanks of over 450 people. 

“How can we help?”, is the number one question we ask ourselves each year when planning our charitable events. Fuel is such an important commodity but an overlooked one, said Myles Munroe Jr, V.P. Myles & Ruth Munroe Foundation when asked about the event’s origin. 

We all need gas to get to work, to grocery shop, drop our children to school, and we know it is expensive. So the team thought this was a creative but substantial way to help unburden families,” said Munroe. 

According to many event attendees, “Tanks-giving”, gave them the opportunity to fill their gas tanks for the very first time.

“I have never ever filled up my tank on before. I usually only put about $20 gas and hope that lasts me as long as possible. This is going to be such a big help to me because I work over the bridge” said one attendee.

Many echoed Mr. Davis’ sentiments and were grateful, thankful and couldn’t wait to snap photos of their full tanks to share with family and friends on social media. Many joked that their tanks were now on Florida, playing off of the F, for full.

“Dr. Myles Munroe would be so proud, this is what he was all about, people. It is great to see his legacy continues to live on.” said another attendee.
