BACKPACK GIVEBACK 2018
The Myles & Ruth Munroe Foundation hosted its annual Back-to-School event on Saturday September 1st at 11:00am–3:00pm on the Bahamas Faith Ministries grounds on Carmichael Road. The annual event seeks to ensure that students returning to school are equipped with the basic tools needed to excel.
“Last year was our foundation’s first back-to-school event and we did it in the Baintown community which was the community my father grew up in here in Nassau. This year I thought it would be fitting to host the event in the Carmichael Road community since this signifies how far my father came and what he has accomplished in the country”, says Myles Munroe Jr. (VP of the MRM Foundation). “I’m always excited to be able to give back. We know how difficult it can be for some parents to get basic school supplies so we want to continue to do our part in helping our local communities. I always say our family has been blessed to be a blessing. I’ve always seen my parents go above and beyond to bless others and as a foundation, and in their honor and legacy, we want to continue to do the same”.
The Foundation distributed over 700 school bags filled with basic school supplies to each child in attendance. We also provided food, drinks, music, face painting, bouncing castles and additional entertainment the kids and parents that came out. We couldn’t have pulled off the event without a little help. We would like to send special thanks to all of the brands and sponsors who joined us to make this year’s event a success! Dominos Pizza Bahamas, Looney Toons Ice Cream & Coffee Concession Cart, June Collie with June Bug Face Painting Bahamas, The Bahamas Alumni Nupes, DJ Counsellor, Caribbean Bottling Company Bahamas and Bahamas Faith Ministries International. We would also like to thank our volunteers for your selfless acts of service that never go unnoticed. Thank you for always standing by our side.
